My name is Sarah, I live in the picturesque county of Suffolk with my husband and daughter – my world.
I have a passion for textiles, thanks mainly to my beautiful Grandmother who would tell me stories of how she made clothes, stitched by hand, during the war to add some glamour at a time of great sadness and darkness. She would use the images in magazines to sculpt tailored clothes, creating herself a wardrobe of clothes reflecting the height of fashion. These patterns she then cut using her nail scissors on the floor of her apartment, and stitched by hand to create gorgeous pieces. This encouraged me to create clothes for my daughter and I for special occasions, particularly as the pennies of being a young family are tight; and from this my obsession with all things pretty and individual has blossomed.
I carve my own print blocks to create truly unique textiles, which are transformed into accessories for both you and your home. Every piece has been lovingly created with my own fair hands, and is entirely individual.
Many of my designs are inspired by the natural world, and I do enjoy a stroll down ‘blackberry lane’ in my village to take in the sights and sounds of nature at its best to prompt new designs. My 2018 collection is very much Scandinavian influenced, which comes from my Danish Grandmother and from my interest in Hygge – simplicity, comfort and finding that space and time in our busy lives to just ‘be’.
I have at times taken on commission work, and would be more than happy to discuss any design concepts you may have.
I do hope you enjoy exploring my website and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
